Mother’s Day Gift by Children: Helping Hands Craft for Mom

SocialTwist Tell-a-Friend

Ever wondered how much work our mothers’ do around the house. Mother’s Day is not just the time to thank mom for doing all the wonderful things for us, it is also a time to tell her how much we would love to share the burden of work with her. You can do this by making helping hands craft for mom as her gift for Mother’s Day.

Supplies Needed

  • Glue
  • Scissors
  • Florists’ sticks or Straws
  • Flower Pot
  • Styrofoam
  • Colored construction Paper
  • Tape
  • Hole Punch
  • A Colored Marker
  • Pencil
  • Ribbon
  • Writing Paper Strips
  • A photo of you and your mom

Instructions

Step 1: Trace your hand 6 times on a construction paper and cut out the drawing.

Step 2: Cut out 6 leaves from green colored construction paper.

Step 3: Write messages on these hands with a colored marker like ‘Clean My Room’, ‘Water the Plants’, ‘Hug Me’ etc. You can also write a helping hand from your daddy’s side that reads ‘Coffee in Bed’ or ‘Private Evening Walk’.

Step 4: On one helping hand paste the picture with your mom. At the bottom of the hand punch a hole in the centre. Cut a few writing paper strips, approximately the width of your hand. Stack these together and punch a hole at the top centre. Thread a ribbon through the hand cut out and these paper strips and secure them with a knot.

Step 5: Stick your hand cut outs and leaves on the straws or florists’ sticks with tape.

Step 6: Place Styrofoam at the bottom of a flower pot and insert these flowers in the pot.

Your helping hands craft for mom is ready to be gifted. She can redeem these whenever she needs your help around the house or a hug. It will also help her prepare her shopping list or jot down numbers because she will not have to look around for writing paper.
