Fresh Floral Bouquet

SocialTwist Tell-a-Friend

When making a fresh floral bouquet for a bride, remember that a unique bouquet enhances a plain dress, while a simple bouquet enhances an elaborate dress. So, create a bouquet that works best for the design of the wedding dress, body shape of the bride and the height of the bride. Also, while choosing flowers you want in the bouquet, keep in mind 'the season' and 'where you are having the wedding'. A fresh floral bouquet also makes a lovely present for a couple at their wedding or a gift to just any acquaintance on a special occasion.

Materials Needed

  • Long stemmed fresh flowers
  • Floral wire
  • Floral or stem wrap tape
  • Wide ribbon
  • Sandwich bag
  • Scissors
  • Preservative solution
  • Hot glue

Instructions to Make a Fresh Floral Bouquet

Step 1: The first thing to do is to soak the fresh flowers in a preservative solution for several hours. This will keep the bouquet fresh for a longer time.

Step 2: Trim the stems of the flowers to a length you want. Keep the stems a little longer than you desire, initially, so you have room to work with them.

Step 3: Loosely wrap the floral wire along the length of the stem and tape its ends to secure it.

Step 4: Hold the flowers securely in your hand and arrange them by length to shape the bouquet.

Step 5: Wrap the ribbon, 8-10 times around the bouquet, until it is securely bound.

Step 6: Now, cut a smooth end at the bottom of the bouquet. Place the end in a plastic sandwich bag with silicon beads and water or a damp paper towel inside.

Step 7: Wrap the ribbon on the sandwich bag as well and then use a straight pin or hot glue to secure its end.
