Easy balloon fish is the one of the basic animals that a beginner starts with. These can be given away as party favors or for decorating the venue of your toddler’s birthday party.
Supplies Needed
- One long balloon that can be inflated to about 2 inches in diameter and 60 inches in length.
- One small round balloon
- A bit of another long balloon
- Marker
Instructions
Step 1: Stretch the long balloon a few times, gently, before filling it with air. Don’t blow it up fully, leave 1 to 1 1\2 inch space empty at the end of the balloon and tie it at the end.
Step 2: Fold the balloon from the middle, ensuring that the ends line up together. Now twist the loose ends of the balloon to 360 degrees, the twist should start at 3 1\2 inches from the end. When completed, the twists should be in straight line with rest of the balloon. This will create the fish tail.
Step 3: Again, squeeze the balloon together to find the center point on the opposite side of the tail. Hold the balloon 3 1\2 inches away from the center and make a full 360 degree twist to create the lips of the balloon fish.
Step 4: Hold the balloon fish from both the ends and push it gently towards the middle to give it a more fish-like shape.
Step 5: Blow up a small round balloon and press it into the center hole of the fish. This will resemble the belly of a fish.
Step 6: Take a bit of another long balloon and tie a knot on one of its ends. Blow it a little and twist it before half point to form a bubble. Insert the flat end of this balloon in the space between the long balloon and round balloon behind the lips. Inflate the other end of the balloon as well and tie its end. Rotate the balloon to hide the knots downwards and you have the eyes of the fish.
Step 7: Take a soft tip marker to draw the scales and the fins of the fish.
Your easy balloon fish is ready.
