Making Christmas star ornaments is a very interesting craft. It does not take much time and money to create these beauties that lend a divine look to your Christmas tree. You can also tack these ornaments to Christmas gifts or wreaths displayed on your front door. There are several ways to make these ornaments of which two are described in this article.
Christmas Craft Sticks Star Ornament
You will need craft sticks, hot glue, glitter glue, scissors, color, paint brush, ribbon and decorative items like gems, rhinestones, buttons etc to make this star ornament.
First of all use the craft sticks to make a five-point star and glue them together. Paint this star in a desired color. Let the paint dry. Make a loop out of the ribbon and stick it at the back of the star. Tack the beads, buttons and gems on the face of the star. You can also use glitter glue to decorate it. Now, hang the star ornament on the X-Mas tree with the ribbon.
Christmas Card Star Ornament
You will need Christmas greeting cards (used or new), 8 x 16-inch white poster board, glittering gold dimensional paint and 8-inch length of 1/8-inch wide green satin ribbon to make this one.
Cut out attractive designs and figures from Christmas cards. Trace the pattern of a star on a poster board, twice. Use scissors to cut out the two stars.
Glue the card cut outs on both the pieces. Let the shapes overlap a little and extend beyond the star edges. Paste your favourite design in the centre of one star and leave the centre of the other star blank.
If you wish to hang this star in a window then cover both the sides of the star. When the stars are completely covered, trim the shapes even with the star edges. Punch a hole near each point of the stars.
Now glue the star that has a covered centre on top of the star with the uncovered centre, such that all the arms of the stars are visible (like a 10-petalled flower).
Apply the dimensional gold glitter on the star’s edges. Let it dry. Then string the ribbon through one of the holes to hang it.
