Christmas holidays are an excellent time to involve kids in some winter crafts that are suitable for this festive occasion. Christmas crafts centre on festive themes and use shiny and bright colors such as gold, silver, red, green and white. The whole family can participate in making some of these crafts and spend some quality time together.

Peppermint Candy Frame

This is one real fun Christmas craft and makes an interesting Christmas party favor as well. To make this frame, glue together four jumbo craft sticks together to form a square. Unwrap some peppermint candies and glue them on the edges of the sticks to cover them completely.

Coat a few layers of clear acrylic paint on them (let the first layer dry before applying the next one). This will keep away ants and leave the candies looking fresh. Paste a photograph backed by cardboard on the back of the frame. Cut out a stand and attach it to the back.

Angel Hershey's Kiss as Party Favors

Cut a 5"x2" strip from an aluminum foil. Crinkle the centre of the foil and glue it on the top of a Hershey’s Kiss candy. Spread out the foil to form wings and use scissors to trim their shape. Form a cup in the foil above the kiss and place a chocolate covered peanut on it.

Mix some water in powdered sugar to make frosting and place it on the wings and Hershey's Kiss to make it stay better. With a cake decorating tool make a halo over the angel's head. Your party favor is ready!

Footprint Christmas Tree

This makes a perfect Christmas keepsake item for grandparents. Take an 11x14" piece of white poster board. Place green washable poster paint in a shoe box and ask your kids to step into it one by one and then put their footprint on the poster board all facing in the same direction. Start with the eldest child's footprints upside-down at the bottom and end with the youngest child.

This will give you a tapering Christmas tree. Now, use some glitter balls and confetti to decorate the tree. Use sequins or silver beads to make a star at the top of the tree. Each child will write his\her name under their footprint. Get the poster board framed and gift it to the proud grandparents. Read about following Christmas Crafts:
