Bees Wax Birthday Candles
These are fairly simple to make. All you need are some colorful bees wax sheets, small wicks and a pair of scissors. Take a wick of the required length and press the wax tightly around the wick. Applying pressure, wrap the candle up, making sure that the bottom edge is neat so the candle can stand up straight. If you blunder anywhere, just unwrap the candle and start again. On reaching the end of the candle, press it tightly to prevent it from unrolling itself. You can embellish it with ribbons, raffia or cut outs from different colored wax sheets.
Painted Candles
Take a medium-sized fragrant vanilla colored candle. Dip a make-up sponge in some yellow acrylic color and dab it on the candle. Let the paint dry, and then use a Q-tip of a desired color to write ‘Happy Birthday’ or the birthday boy\girl’s name on the candle. You can write the alphabets in some fine-looking calligraphic shapes to make the candle even more attractive. Let the paint dry once again and then embellish it with some ribbons and place a homemade tag around the candle that reads ‘Hand Painted Just for you’.
Egg Shell Candles
These candles are prepared using the larger shell portions of the eggs that you have broken to cook. First, clean and dry these shells, and then dye them by dipping them in a solution of water and food color. Place each such eggshell in an egg cup and fill it with an anchoring medium of your choice leaving 1\4” of space at the top. The anchoring medium can be colored wax crystals or colored wax sand. Now, place a birthday candle in the middle of the anchoring medium. The candle will act as a wick to burn down and melt the surrounding wax.
