An apple slice gift basket is a wonderful way to present your gifts on occasions like Easters, Teacher’s Day, baby showers or other holidays. It is a simple craft that can keep children busy during festivals and special occasions. Use ribbons and dried apple slices to prepare this unusual basket and then fill it up with assorted gifts.
Supplies Needed
- One Brown Basket, preferably 10 inches in diameter
- 24 slices of dried apple
- 2 yards of 2 1\2” wide wired ribbon
- Assorted gift items
- Hot glue\gun
Instructions to Prepare Dried Apple Slices
Slice the apple into 1\4 inch slices. Dip these slices in lemon juice to prevent discoloration.
Prepare a glass dish by placing by covering it with 4 layers of paper towel and place the apple slices on it. Cover the dish with more paper towels.
Now, microwave this dish at half power for three minutes. Turn the slices over to the drier areas of paper towel and microwave it again at half power for 2 minutes.
Place these apple slices in a glass plate lined with paper towels and let it air dry for a day or two. To quicken the drying process and to get a better color, keep this plate in a warm place and keep changing the paper towels every few hours.
Instructions to Make Apple Slice Gift Basket
Cut the ribbon into two 18” lengths and make two bows out of them.
Use the remaining ribbon to make loops and S-shaped curves around the rim of the basket and keep gluing it simultaneously.
Glue the bows on the base of the basket’s handle, one on each side.
Glue one slice of dried apple in the center of these bows and the remaining around the rim of the basket. Place them over the ribbon in clusters of two or three.
Your apple slice gift basket is ready. Fill it up with assorted gifts depending on the occasion.
