Can you please clarify exactly what you are talking about when you say small bathroom fixtures? Certainly, we are talking about sink and shower/tub faucets, light fixtures and things like towel bars/rings, soap dishes, toilet paper holders and door hooks for your bath robes, clothes or swim suit. Wow, that certainly is a lot that falls under this category! Yes, it really is; and sometimes we do not even think about some of these items as fixtures. We just know what they are and how we cannot live without them because we are so used to all of these items being in our lives in one way or another.

What would we do withoutsmall bathroom fixtures?

I do not even want to think about that possibility! We have become so used to having most of these fixtures in their bathrooms. Without toilet tank levers, we have no way to flush the toilet unless we were to take the lid off of the water tank and unplug the drain spout by hand. While not every small bathroom (bathroom in general) has a soap dish, they definitely are useful items to keep that bar of soap in one place on the sink or in the shower/tub. Another very necessary item is the toilet paper holder. Without that, we would have to put the toilet paper roll on the sink, the floor or back of the toilet.

Do these small bathroom fixtures have to be very plain?

That is a resounding No! You can find all of these items in the traditional styles, colors and finishes that we have always known; and you can find them in fancier designs, finishes and colors as well. Are you looking to change the look of your bathroom from contemporary or modern to more traditional or antique? This is not that hard to do at all. It simply requires changing the door handles/knobs, faucets towel bars, lighting fixtures, etc over from what you currently have to something that looks like it has been around for a reallylong time. This effectively changes both the look and feel of the bathroom.
