A designer kitchen is what you get when you remodel and redesign your old kitchen to suit your changing lifestyle, needs and preferences. This can be anything from simply changing the counter tops to completely starting over and redoing your entire kitchen from ceiling to floor. New colors for the walls, a new floor altogether, new counter tops, new cabinets, new sink… new everything is basically at the heart of a remodeled designer kitchen!
Figuring out what you want the change
This can be very easy or sometimes pretty difficult depending upon exactly what you want to change and how you want to go about going from that old kitchen you currently have to a new designer kitchen. How do I decide this stuff, is probably what you are asking right about now; this is where things can get tricky. Let’s start by looking at what in your kitchen you do not like and want to change and what you want to change. Are you looking to change just the cabinets or counter tops or do you want to change everything? Changing everything would make this a major remodeling job; whereas changing the cabinets and/or counter tops is not quite that major a renovation.
Next is choosing the new items
Deciding what items will go into creating your designer kitchen is the next thing on this list to look at once you have decided exactly what you will be changing. Are you looking to replace your old, worn out counter top with a marble or a granite counter top? Both are extremely durable and will withstand years of use easily. Have you decided that you now want a center island built around your stove with cabinets on either side of the stove for storing your pots and pans? Perhaps you have also decided that you want to get rid of the linoleum and only have the original hardwood floor in your kitchen. All of these things and many more go into creating a brand new designer kitchen!
