Whether you will choose one of the standard shapes all depends upon what you have in mind and your budget. Are you looking for just a plain mirror or one that has lighting built into it?
Lighted or not lighted?
To some people, the idea of have lighting built right into their bathroom vanity mirrors really appeals to them as it provides a bit of extra light. If you were going to use only the light from your lighted mirror to see what you are doing, that light needs to be pretty strong! Most of us have heard about or have used lighted bathroom vanity mirrors at least once. They are a wonderful way to get that added light when you are doing your make-up or just need a little extra light. There are others though who see no sense in having a lighted vanity mirror. To them a regular mirror works well enough.
Wall mounted or pivoting swing arm style?
This is something else to think about; are you going to choose a traditional wall mounted mirror or is a pivoting swing-arm style more to your liking? This is also a question of your personal tastes. The advantage of a pivoting swing-arm style is that you can put it where you need it at the moment, then fold it back against the wall later.
