Do you have a friend, co-worker, family member or significant other that has been sick? Or is recovering from a surgery? If so, then you may want to consider giving them a "Get Well Soon" gift. Here are some ideas that you can consider.
First, if the person is spending a lot of time in bed, they will most likely need something to help them pass the time. An excellent choice for anyone in this situation would be a book. Some good book suggestions would be something science fiction, so it would help allow the person to get away from reality for a little bit. A humorous book would also be great; you probably would want to avoid giving them a sad book or one that one reminds them they are sick. Also, if they are in a room with a TV and a DVD player, you could consider buying them some DVD’s to watch. As with books, try to select a movie or show that would either fascinate them or make them laugh. A handheld video game would also be a good gift to help entertain them, while they recover. There are hand-held electronic crossword and other puzzle games available too.
Another good gift would be flowers. Anything bright and colorful that would help lighten the room and brighten the person's day would be perfect. Also, there are many treats and food items you could consider giving. A batch of brownies or cookies would be good, or a "candy bouquet" that includes chocolates and various other candies would be nice as well. If the person likes tea, then a tea basket with an assortment of teas may be a good idea. There are also "Get Well Soon" Chicken Soup sets you can purchase, that include various flavors of soup, along with a bowl, matching napkin and wooden spoon.
Finally, you may want to consider a stuffed animal. There are many different stuffed animals to choose from, the most popular of which are typically teddy bears. You should also be able to purchase one that comes with a special message saying "Get Well Soon" or you could always make your own and attach to it. You could also add some balloons to accompany your stuffed animal, for that extra little touch.
Hopefully you found these suggestions helpful and you have a better understanding of what to get for a "Get Well Soon" gift.
