Pressed flower crafts can help you preserve your summer blooms well after the summer is gone. These crafts will help you decorate your room and will make interesting gifts for your loved ones.

Before moving on to make some actual projects, you must know how to press flowers correctly. Don’t pick flowers when they are still moist from morning dew. Keep them between two paper towels and then press them between the pages of a heavy telephone book. Place a brick or something heavy on top of the book. Change the paper when it becomes saturated with moisture. The flowers will completely dry out in 2 to 3 weeks time.

Here are some pressed flower craft projects.

Decorated Candles

Purchase some paraffin wax and a pillar candle. Melt the wax in a double boiler. Apply some white glue on the back of the pressed flowers and paste them around the candle. Coat the paraffin wax on the flowers and the sides of the candle using a paintbrush.

Pressed Flower Picture

To make this pressed flower craft you will need tissue paper, wax paper, clear contact paper and some pressed flowers.

Cut out a piece of wax paper in the size you want your picture to be. Place the pressed flowers on the wax paper in a design you want. Dab some glue on the back of the flowers and paste them on the desired place. Once the glue dries cover the paper and flowers with contact paper. Place a tissue on the contact paper and iron it so the flowers adhere to the contact paper.

You can get this picture framed and hang it in your room or present it to a friend.

Decorative Stationery

Mix one part of glue with one part of water and glue pressed flowers on your stationery. Brush this mixture on the top of the flower as well. It will disappear when it dries. The stationery will look very attractive with flowers on it.
