Teacher's Day
Teacher’s Day is a very interesting and valuable national festival of India . Teachers play very important role in shaping the future life of a child. An educated child is the bright future of a nation. Teachers are most important in formative years of child. What we learn in childhood moulds our whole life. But often teachers are the most neglected souls; we forget to appreciate their contribution towards our personal life, towards community and towards nation as a whole. Teacher’s Day is the occasion to remind us the importance of the Teachers. This is the day when we can appreciate and thank teachers for their invaluable guidance.

Background of Teacher’s Day:
5 th September is selected as teacher’s Day as it is the birthday of celebrated teacher Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan and he was the first President of independent India . It happened like this that some students wanted celebrated birthday of their beloved and revered teacher, Dr Radhakrishnan, then he said that instead of celebrating my birthday separately, it would be better if September 5 is observed as Teacher’s Day to honor all the teachers.”
Teacher’s Day Celebration:
Teacher’s Day celebration is mostly limited to schools where students organize many cultural programs in respect of their teachers. They organize programs like dance, songs and drama. Picnics are also arranged for the teachers only. Another fun part of Teacher’s Day is senior students can disguise like teachers and get a chance to teach junior students for a day. Teacher’s day is not a holiday rather students do not want to miss school for all the festivities going in the school.
At governmental level, teachers are honored for various services. Teachers are given prizes by the government for various categories like best teacher.
