Mother’s Day is observed to pay tribute to mothers for the love, affection and guidance, they bestowed on their children. Though feeling behind celebrating Mother’s Day is same in the all the countries world over but the date and the day differ in all the countries. The date of Mother’s Day is calculated in various countries according to their emotions and beliefs.
In most of the countries, Mother’s Day is celebrated on the Second Sunday in the month of May. On May 8, 1914, President of USA, Woodrow Wilson declared the Date of Mother’s Day by signing a Joint resolution which designated Second Sunday in the month of May as the Mother’s Day. Though this tradition of celebrating Mother’s Day originated in US but over the period it spread across the countries. However, in various countries, way of celebration differs with the manner of celebration in US.
