Father’s Day

Father’s Day is very important festival for a child, son or daughter. This is the day when children can express their love and affection towards their father. Though children can express their feelings and love to their father, any day and every day but this is the day to let him feel special.

Fathers are definitely beloved soul for their children. Father is always there for your needs, to share your feelings and alleviate your fears. He is always there to wipe your tears and make every effort to make you happy.

When you are too small, you can not understand those feelings and if understand, then do not know how to express them. Father’s Day is the occasion to express your love in straight words to your father. He will be greatly obliged. This is the day to tell him that how much he means to you. This is the day to recognize all the efforts and pains he has taken to let you grow in comfort and made you the person you are today.

It is not just father; you can express your feelings to all fatherly figures like grandfather, big brother or stepfather who mean lot to you.

History of Father’s day:

Father’s Day is observed on the 3 rd Sunday of June every year.

Celebration of Father’s Day was started in Spokane , Washington . It was first celebrated by Sonora Smart Dodd on 19 th June in 1910. She wanted to know her father how special he was for her. Her father raised her with lots of sacrifices and love after her mother died. She chose the month of June because her father was born in June.

Then many people started to celebrate Father’s Day in many towns of America . President Calvin Coolidge, 1924, declared 3 rd Sunday of June as Father’s Day.
