Eid ul Fitr Recipes
Eid-Ul-Fitr is the most important festival for Muslim community and they celebrate it with great devotion and zeal. Traditional Eid dishes are the most interesting part of the festive celebrations. Let us see some popular Eid-Ul-Fitr Recipes.
SEVIYAN
This is the symbolic Eid recipe and very easy recipe. For that, you will need Vermicelli Noodles (Seviyan) – 50 gm
Whole Milk – ½ litre
Condensed Milk – ½ tin
Cardamom Powder – ½ tsp
Dry fruits – ½ cup (optional)
Ghee- 1 tbsp
Method:
Take a pan and heat ghee. Shallow fry vermicelli till it is golden brown. Boil milk; add to it vermicelli, condensed milk and cardamom powder. Cook it for some times until, vermicelli gets soft. Garnish with nuts.
Badami Gosht
Take
Lean lamb (cubed) – 1 ½ lb
Vegetable oil- 5 tbsp
Onion Chopped- 1 large
Garlic cloves -6
Chopped ginger – 1 ½ inch
Yogurt – 1 ¼ cup
Chilli Powder – ½ tsp
Salt – 1 tsp
Ground almonds- ½ cup
Coconut milk – 1 ½ cup
Dried red chilies – 2
Cinnamon sticks – 2
Crushed Cloves - 2
Method :
Take a pan and heat it. Add cinnamon, cardamom and cloves to it and fry a little. Now add onion and cook it until golden brown. Then add ginger and garlic; cook it for few minutes. Add lamb cubes to it and fry for about 5 minutes. Now make a mixture of curd, salt, chili powder and saffron and add to lamb cubes. Now add almond paste to the lamb cubes and stir well. Over low heat, simmer it for 5 minutes. Then add coconut milk and cover the pan and cook for 40 minutes over low heat. Now uncover the pan and cook for another 10 minutes and it is ready to transfer to a serving dish.
Malpua:
Take
Milk – 1 ltr
Maida- ¼ cup
Suji- ¼ cup
Ghee and Water
Method: Boil milk and thicken enough to reduce it to ½ of its quantity. Dry roast suji to until it is light brown. Now slowly add suji and maida to milk so that no lumps are formed. It should be of pancake consistency. Take a flat pan and heat ghee. Prepare pancakes carefully. It should not be hard or crisp. Prepare sugar syrup and dip pancake in it.
