Angel Food Cake is very popular and traditional cake recipe prepared for the Easter holidays. You can too prepare it by yourself by just following the instructions carefully. Another important thing is that quantities of ingredients should be very accurate. Let’s see what do you need and how can you prepare this delicious Easter cake.
Ingredients:
Sifted cake flour – 1 cup
Egg Whites – 12
Cream of Tartar – 1 ½ tsp
Sugar (Powdered) – 1 ½ cups
Vanilla – ½ tsp
Salt – ½ tsp
Fruits or frosting (Optional)
How to Prepare Angel Food Cake:
Take a 10 x 3 ¾ inch baking pan for the Angel Food Cake.
Preset the oven to heat at 375 degrees.
Take a large bowl, pour into it egg whites and cream of tartar. Beat this very well with cream of tartar, using an electric mixer at very high speed till it is foamy.
Now add to it ¾ cups of sugar and beat it regularly until sugar is dissolved. Pour only 2 tbsp of sugar at a time. You will see that egg white will become glossy and its peaks will form. Add vanilla flavor to it.
In another bowl, sift together flour, salt and remaining sugar.
Take half cup of flour mixture and pour it over egg white mixture and fold it until flour vanishes. Repeat this process until whole flour mixture is used.
Pour this mixture in the baking pan and gently cut through batter using the metal spatula.
Bake it in the preheated oven for about one hour. You can check this by touching with finger; cake top should spring back when touched.
Invert the pan over funnel and let it cool for about 1 and ½ hour.
Loosen the cake over the serving plate. You can decorate it as you desire.
