You Have to See to Believe
For most people, seeing is believing and that is no different when it comes to your body and your daily workout. Visualization is a very important part of your workout whether you want to believe it or not.
You need to see yourself where you want to be every time you step up or sit down on a machine. Just going through the movements is not enough. See where you want to be, see what you want to look like after all your hard work has paid off.
By having this great attitude of visualization, it will greatly improve your workout. Your body responds to good thoughts, although I realize that sounds kind of hokey but it is true.
When you were young you would tell your friends that you were going to be whatever it was that you wanted to be when you grew up. The same thing applies to your workout. You probably felt all macho and grown up talking about the future.
The same think applies with your body. Maybe try meditating before your workout or sit somewhere it is quiet so that you can have a few moments alone. It works better than what you would think. By putting yourself in a good place and being relaxed before your routine, your workout will feel like it was ten times more productive.
Your body responds better when you treat it well. When you are at work and stress hits you like a ton of bricks, the job you are trying to get done seems like it is harder than it actually has to be. The body responds by getting tense and possibly giving you a tension headache or muscle cramps.
Once you relax and concentrate, seeing the project in its finality, you start to concentrate better and get the job done. Same thing with your workout routine. Relax and visualize the process and what the outcome is going to be not how you are going to get there. This will make all the difference in your workout.
