Yoga diet and cleansing
The fundamental principle of healthy eating implies having right food in right amount in right combination and at the right time. It is not simple and difficult as a task. There are many techniques called Yogic cleansing techniques for the decontamination of body by eating cleansing diet.
Cleansing should be done properly before we nourish. So the first important measure is to stop consuming all food additives, junk foods, leftovers, desserts, snacks, canned and also processed foods and very salty stuff. The goal should be to consume fresh, natural foods prepared hygienically and keep our meals as simple as possible. We should not overeat, minimize frequency of consuming foods, and chew each bite properly.
We must avoid heavy foods and be habitual of enjoying light food. Few foods are nourishing but if they are heavy will harm your digestion. Leafy vegetables, fresh and seasonal fruits and herbs are known as cleansing and light foods. A proper diet is the one in which the servings of foods which is heavy are balanced with light foods. A cleansing diet emphasizes the intake of light foods.
Next important step is to abstain from proteins which are animal-based such as pork, red meat, poultry, fish, eggs and dairy. They are categorized under heavy foods and thus, unsuitable for cleansing. These animal proteins are likely to carry toxins from environment. Protein which comes from plant in little amount is good for cleansing. Freshly prepared whole grain and beans are a better choice of plant proteins.
If your digestion is sluggish or upset, then cleansing diet is the best remedy. Cleansing diet is suitable for headaches, a thickly coated tongue, bad breath and digestion problems such as bloating and constipation. Cleansing diet can have side effects like weakness, insomnia, palpitation, fainting spells, absence of menstruation and certain specific illnesses. So it is vital that you consult your physician before following Yoga cleansing diet.
