Working out Without the Gym

In a perfect world, we would all be able to go to the gym four to five days a week to work out with our very own personal trainer. The problem is that we don’t live in a perfect world and there are several reasons we can’t get to a gym for our daily workout.

These reasons can include time, family obligations, location, transportation, and finances. The good news is that you don’t need a fancy gym membership and personal trainer to get an excellent workout. All you really need is a plan and a lot of personal determination.

When you are working out without the gym, make sure you drink plenty of water and stretch before you start doing any exercises.

Exercising Your Back
When you are working out without the gym, you want to start with your back. The best way to strengthen your back is to do chin ups. At some point, you will want to install a chin up bar in your home, but until that happens you can use a variety of things for your chin ups: a low tree branch, a rafter, or the edge of a doorway. The important thing is to make sure that whatever you are using is strong enough to support your weight and that you have a good grip on the object.

Exercising Your Legs
After you have done your chin ups to strengthen your back, you will want to turn your attention to toning your legs. When you don’t have access to your gym and weight lifting equipment, the two exercises you should consider are squats and the lunge. When you are working on exercising your legs, you should make sure that you have plenty of room and that you won’t slip or trip

Exercising Your Chest
There is a reason that the push up has been a part of sports training programs for so long. That reason is because the push up is an excellent exercise when you want to exercise your chest muscles. The best thing about push ups is that you don’t need any fancy equipment or stylish clothes; all you need is a flat piece of ground and enough room to stretch out on your stomach.

Aerobic Exercise
The best way to work on your cardiovascular system when you are working out without the gym is to go on a long walk.
