Why Do You Need to Lose Weight
Let’s get to the basic question- why do we need to lose weight? There could be several reasons. You want to look younger. You want to feel healthier. You want to fit into your clothes.
You want to look attractive. You have to reduce for medical reasons. Everyone has a reason to loose weight. Whatever it is, it sets you on the task of identifying an appropriate weight loss program.
We should primarily understand the disadvantages and the problems associated with weight gain. With increase in weight gain the center of gravity of the body shifts making the person vulnerable to falls.
It puts a strain on the heart and results in heart disease and increase in blood pressure. It puts unnecessary strain on the joints and weakens the joints, muscles and tendons.
It also places a huge strain to the spine and results in lower back problems. Excess fat makes the person lethargic and slows down metabolism.
Regular exercise and diet can help with weight loss.
Most people see a visible difference in their endurance and stamina when they shed the extra weight. The aches and pains also seem to reduce considerably when the body does not have to carry the extra weight.
Before launching on a weight loss program, make sure to assess your body mass index (BMI). It will indicate if you are overweight or obese.
Accordingly you can choose a fitness program to achieve your weight loss goals. A sensible diet rich in proteins and nutrients backed up by a regular exercise regimen will go a long way in reducing weight.
One may also consider diet supplements or pills that help to burn fat by increasing the metabolic activity of the body. Choose a program that fits your budget and one which is sustainable.
