What water can do for your body and health
The other name for water is life. We can not survive without water. Maybe it is because life began in water is why water is such an important element for all species. It does not just help the plants grow and quench our thirst, but also works as a magic potion for our health. If you think this colorless drink does not do much, then you will be surprised to know its qualities.
How much water does one need to drink every day – this question has many answers. Some might actually recommend a certain amount, but it depends on your daily activity as well as the condition of your health. Even though water is available in food, we still need to drink some water. When there is lack of water in the body, one does not only feel thirsty, but also tend to have a dry mouth and even a headache.
Water is necessary for a sound health condition. Many tend to take soft drinks just as a substitute for water. That is not correct. The substitute for water is water itself. The drinks available in the markets often contain artificial color and flavor and all the drinks contain sugar.
Plain water is free of any artificial color, flavor and the added sugar. In other words, it is harmless. Whereas soft drinks add calories to your body, water helps to reduce the extra calories. Those who are alcoholic need to drink water more than a non-alcoholic person. Alcohol has adverse effect on the kidneys. To keep the kidneys healthy, one needs to drink a good amount of water. Apart from that water prevents respiratory diseases as well.
Water is essential for the ones who have dry skin. Water restores the moisture balance of the skin and reduces the dryness and makes you look fresh. So you see, not just our body, waters helps our skin as well.
Remember, drinking too much water can also harm your health. So drink water in proper amounts. Next time when you are thirsty, go for plain water instead of a soft drink.
