What to Eat When Bodybuilding

Most people think that all they have to do is pick up some weights, begin lifting and they will look like the people in the fitness magazines.  One misconception is that the more muscle you have, the less intelligent you are.  Another misconception is that lifting weights will make your body big with muscles.  This is not entirely true.  What weight lifting does do is it makes the body burn any extra fat that has been stored and keeps the body fit and healthy.  Anyone can take part in a weight training program regardless of their age or sex.  As long as you follow the guidelines of weight training and eat healthy diet, you will reap the benefits of lifting weights.

Diet is a very important aspect in weight training.  Most people want to know what types of food they can eat in order to get the maximum results from their weight training routine.  The foods that should be eaten are foods that burn fat.  Some people choose not to eat fat burning foods and instead consume foods that burn calories.  Food items that burn calories are known as negative calorie foods.  They are called so because they provide the body with a negative amount of calories.

Negative calorie foods require a larger amount of calories in order for the body to digest them.  They also do not pack on weight on the body.  As a result, the person loses calories in their body and they wind up losing weight.  Most of these negative calorie foods taste just as good as high calorie foods.  Sometimes they even taste better.  Negative calorie foods are made up of primarily fruits and vegetables.  Some fruits and vegetables that you can choose from are tomatoes, cucumbers, spinach, carrots, broccoli, lettuce, celery, leeks, and asparagus.  Eat these foods in their natural form and do not cook, boil or fry them as this will cause them to lose their negative calorie nutritional value.

So you see weight training is more than simply picking up a set of weights and doing a few repetitions.  It starts with a good muscle building, fat burning, and low calorie diet.
