What to eat that does not make me fat
Advantages of protein
There is no easy way to lose weight. The best thing you can do is to follow a diet that has as much of proteins as possible. Proteins are composed of amino acids.
When you take in food containing proteins, it breaks up to release amino acids that are essential requirements of every cell in the body.
They are made use of in the formation of muscles. Muscles burn a lot of calories in the process of building up, thus enabling you to lose weight. Proteins in ample amount make the heart muscles strong so that we have less chance of getting a heart attack.
Proteins also help in the production of antibodies that protect the body from illnesses. We can see that proteins help us to remain fit, healthy and thin.
What if you have excess of protein?
If you have too much protein, it’s not probable that it turns into fat and contributes to an increase in weight. It is not an easy job to convert protein into fat.
Firstly, the proteins should be broken into amino acids and these amino acids should be turned into fats. All of this process takes a lot of energy and burns a lot of calories.
We can see that it is not practical to suggest excess protein may lead to higher deposits of fat in the body. Therefore, we can conclude that protein in any amount is helpful in countering obesity and leads to a healthy body.
What protein does?
Most people gain weight because their metabolism rate is low and calories do not burn quickly enough.
When you take in protein, it has that “ specific dynamic action” that increases the rate of metabolism for a short period of time, resulting in more calories getting burnt.
Your body understands that when you take protein, you are doing so for growth and strengthening of bones and muscles.
So, it needs to be busy and speed up the metabolism to produce more energy. Two ounces of protein will help you progress by leaps and bounds in cutting down upon weight. It also makes you healthier and stronger.

Make sure you don’t go on a high protein diet. Your body prefers to run on carbs and fats for energy rather than protein. If your body runs out of carbs and fats it will use protein as an energy source which is very hard on your body and your body starts forming ketones. It can eventually has negative effects on your ability to think.
***Fat burns in a carbohydrate flame***
Golden rule! You have to have carbs to burn fat!!! You want to improve your body composition? Keep the carbs in your diet! These high protein diets are very hard on the kidneys, and any weight loss is due to decrease water weight which will just come back once you eat carbs.
Weight loss= Calorie intake< Calorie expenditure. Simple as that.
More muscle mass = More calories burned per hour just resting.
The thermogenic effect of food is greatest within an hour of consumption–meaning go for a walk after dinner and burn those calories easier.
Weight training = long term effects due to increase in muscle mass (leads to increase in calories burned daily in resting state, for every lb of muscle +5 cals burned in an hour) This doesn’t mean you have to go get bulky
High reps with light weight = Great for toning!
Low reps with heavy weight = Great for bulking up
Hate the fact that you gain weight by lifting weights?
Don’t!! When you build muscle mass you shrink the fat storing areas. You will look leaner than you would with less muscle.
Endurance = speeds up metabolism temporarily and very good for your heart and blood pressure long term.
I personally believe that it has made my immune system invincible! I am an aerobic lover! I never ever get sick, haven’t been sick since elementary and I’m a senior in college. My boyfriend just had walking pneumonia, we both thought it was just a cold for a while he finally went to the doctor and he was diagnosed with it. Needless to say I didn’t even catch it and we kissed, drank after each other etc.. Talk about saving money on doctors visits and meds.. he had to buy some medicine that consisted of 3 or 5 pills for over $100.
I am very passionate about exercise and nutrition it is my life. I am getting my degree in Kinesiology and if the university allowed me to minor in Nutrition I would do it in a heart beat! (For some reason I can’t because it’s under the same department or something like that..) but luckily alot of my required classes are nutrition related and I love it!
Considering start a website for questions related to both exercise and nutrition, if anyone thinks that they would be interested let me know.
