What Make Weight Gain Rapid?

There is really no surprise here.  The reasons for gaining weight are not eating properly or overeating and no daily exercising.  Even when an individual eats only health foods, eating too much food will cause a rapid weight gain.

Obesity has many causes but putting on excess weight quickly is a little different.  A speedy weight gain will cause medical problems and most certainly will cause mental anguish.

The following are reasons for gaining weight rapidly:

When there is a thyroid hormone that is lacking, how the food is processed in the body is affected.  This is a slow metabolism and the medical term is hypothyroidism.  Along with this disease, the face will swell, fatigue will set in, the skin will become coarse and the individual will not be able to handle headaches or cold.

The hormones that require fatty acids in order to keep the metabolism of the body functioning properly become compromised.  Essential fatty acids become lacking and this makes the individual crave foods, in particular the foods that contain a lot of fat.  The individual suffering from this deficiency will have dry hair or even dandruff but may also develop more serious conditions like diabetes or problems with arthritis and more.

When an individual develops a sensitivity to certain foods and, without realizing, eat these foods, they will suffer from water retention.  Water retention will definitely increase the weight immediately.  Water is heavy.  Food sensitivity issues will show up as fatigue or depression, sinus issues or the joints become painful, headaches develop and more problems surface.

Steroids, which require a prescription, may cause the individual to gain weight. Other prescription type drugs like NSAIDs (nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs) or curatives for diabetes, and even antidepressants, will cause an increase in weight to the taker of the medicines.

Then there is the most prominent cause for the rapid increase of weight and that is ‘emotional eating’.  Eating to fill a void or stuff your feelings is a dangerous state of mind and the person ends up eating just to be eating.  The body suffers, weight piles on and then the individual ends up even more depressed because of the rapid gain in weight.

There are so many ways for speedy weight gain, but the only way to correct this is proper eating and exercise.  That is the one part of weight control that never varies.
