What Foods Flatten Your Stomach
When you ask a person what part of their body they would most like to change, seven times out of ten they’ll tell you that they would like a nice, flat stomach. The good news is that a flat stomach isn’t an unattainable goal. With some careful dieting, exercises, and a whole lot of determination, anyone can turn their curved tummy into a washer board abdomen.
There are several foods that will flatten your stomach; you just have to know which ones to eat and which to stay away from.
Olive Oil
People are starting to realize that olive oil is about as close to a perfect food as you are going to find. In addition to being a food that will flatten your stomach, olive oil also lowers your cholesterol and makes it easier for your body to digest food.
Oatmeal
When we hear the word oatmeal, many of us think about the bowl of unappetizing, lumpy, gray mush that our mothers made us eat for breakfast on cold winter mornings. It was one of those foods we swore we wouldn’t ever have to eat once we became adults. What we now understand is that oatmeal is very good for us. In addition to being a food that will flatten your stomach, it will also lower your cholesterol. Using some fresh fruits like peaches, blueberries, and strawberries will brighten your morning bowl of oatmeal and make it more appetizing.
Beans and Almonds
Almonds and beans are becoming favorite foods amongst dieters. Make sure you aren’t eating refried beans, which are extremely high in saturated fat.
Dairy
Dairy products are an important food group that shouldn’t be ignored. They are an excellent source of calcium, protein, and iron. When you are trying to flatten your stomach, you should make sure that your dairy products are the low fat variety, such as low fat yogurt and skim milk.
Whole Grains
When you are shopping for foods that will flatten your stomach, you should spend some extra time in the grain aisle of your grocery store. You will want to select breads and pastas that are made out of whole grains, not flour. These whole grain products are an excellent source of several different essential minerals, as well as fiber.
