What are some of the myths about food?
Everyone is trying to lose weight, or so it would seem. These days there are a lot of people on the healthy kick. Unfortunately, there are a lot of companies and advertisers who are trying to cash in on this by misleading people.
Often, the information that you see is not totally accurate. There are lots of myths out there when it comes to what you should eat. Here are some of the more common ones.
Eating red meat is unhealthy.
It is commonly thought that if you want to be fit, you should cut out red meat. Of course it is bad to eat too much red meat. This goes for anything though.
You should watch how much red meat you are eating. While it is high in protein, it is also bad for you if you eat too much.
You will get fat by eating more.
It is a popular opinion that eating less food will cause you to be thinner. This is not necessarily true. The amount of fat you gain or lose does not depend on the amount you eat.
It is the amount of calories that you consume and how much you do that affects your body weight. You can easily get away with eating a large bowl of healthy salad.
However, the same amount of fried junk food in that bowl is a whole different matter. It is the type of food that you eat those matters, not the quantity alone.
Eating too many carb’s will cause you to get fat.
This is another common myth that you should not believe. Of course the carbohydrates you eat will affect your body weight. However, if you want to make sure that you do not get fat – eat healthy and lead a healthy lifestyle.
Do not sit there blaming carb’s. You do not need to cut them out of your diet. They are part of a balanced eating schedule.
