Weight Regain after Weight Loss
There are too many of us out there that have tried to lose weight and have been successful, only to gain it back. The problem is that there is no energy balance. Your energy balance is the ratio of burning more energy in your body than you are actually taking in from your food.
Many women will start calorie counting for every little tiny thing that they eat. It is not necessary to calorie count. The bottom line is that if you start to eat fewer calories than you are now and you have a good exercise program, you will have a good energy balance.
Another thing to remember is that when you have more muscle, the more fat that you will burn off. This is also true even when you and your body are at rest. There are many different things that you need to consider when you are dieting and exercising. One of those things is heredity. Believe it or not, your genes can have a lot to do with the way that you lose weight. Hormones are a factor as well.
One of the biggest mistakes that we make when dieting is that we set ourselves up for a big fall. We seem to have these big expectations for a great amount of weight loss and when that does not happen, we cheat and gain back whatever we have lost. The key is to lose it slowly. You will keep the weight off a lot longer by taking your time.
You also want to avoid the infamous yo-yo pattern. This is when you lose weight and then gain it back and then lose the weight and gain it back and so on. It is not only a bad way to lose the weight but is also really bad for your body.
Two last things, if you decide to join a gym, go slowly with your routine. If you try to do everything at once, you will not only end up sore and tired, but you will see no results. A good support system is also great. They can help to keep you motivated to lose weight and look great.
