Weight Loss – What You Should Do at the Very Beginning
Almost all weight loss plans recommend exercise and diet to lose weight. Here are a few more tips that will help in addition to the same jaded information.
Exercise: As they all say, exercise is the best way to lose and maintain weight loss. It is important to be consistent and workout 5 times a week for about 30 minutes each session. The sessions can be split to accommodate your daily schedule.
Weight training: Weight training will help burn fat and increase muscle mass. This will lead to a leaner and toned body. It is a good idea to alternate weight training and aerobics to see best results.
Maintain a journal: It can be used to record caloric consumption, workout schedules and calories burnt at each session. This will help keep track of your plan and aid in planning your program. Any slip ups can be corrected in a timely fashion.
Focus on health: Understand than being thin does not mean that you are healthy. Focus on healthy eating habits and regular exercise and a means to be fit and healthy and not merely to appear thin.
Identify triggers: It helps to understand what makes you binge out. Is it boredom or anger or other emotional upheavals causing you to over eat? Fix the triggers consciously and eliminate the desire to overeat.
Portion control: make it a point to control your portion sizes. Identify the correct portion size for you and accordingly limit your intake. Make sure to pack extra amounts away in case the portion size exceeds your recommended intake.Avoid eating from a bag and use bowls to serve food.
Eat slowly: chew and savor food while eating. This slows down the process and helps the brain realize that you are full. It prevents you from overeating
Lose weight gradually: Do not resort to drastic measures to lose weight. They will provide encouraging results initially but will only result in quick weight gain later.
Make slow changes to your diet and see consistent results.
Get the support of weight loss groups or networks and enjoy the benefits of a healthy lifestyle.
