Weight Loss Exercise

There are many exercises that are available for losing your weight; however, the best exercise that makes you lose weight is walking. Walking is simple and effective. Although a number of exercises are useful in burning calories in the shortest possible time, these exercises are highly stressed and the probability of getting injured is high. Walking is useful in burning calories consistently over a long period.
The following aspects of walking make it a perfect exercise:

1.    Inexpensive and convenient – this is an exercise that can be done anywhere at any time depending on your convenience. It can be done either in the evening or morning, near your house, or in a different city. No need to bother with the gym schedule. The kit required for this is a pair of shoes suitable for walking/running. This exercise is quite inexpensive because there is no subscription to be paid for the gym.

2.    Burn calories efficiently – the calories burnt by walking or running a distance of one mile is the same. Hence, walking is preferred by many people over running.

3.    Less Injurious – the probability of getting injured while walking is much less as compared to running. While walking, your legs only carry the weight of your body; however, while running, six to twelve times the weight of your body is placed on your legs. It is clear that walking can take you longer distances. Since you are not susceptible to injury, you might continue your exercise regimen for a longer period.

4.    Reduces diseases – walking for duration of 30 to 60 minutes at normal speed can burn fat and build up your muscles. It reduces the chances of getting heart disease, colon cancer, breast cancer and diabetes. The probability of getting a stroke is reduced by 30% to 50%.

5.    Final analysis – the energy consumed during walking is equal to the product of your weight and distance travelled. There is no relationship between energy consumed and time/ speed in walking.
If you want to reduce your weight, you must burn calories more than your intake of calories. Walking is the best way to do this.
