Calorie control is something which may annoy people.  Many people would consider that it is better to eat and exercise moderately instead of bothering about the calories.  But it isn’t so simple because you are likely to put on weight. Here are five simple ways to control both calories and weight.

Remember and try to understand that a diet which is fat-free is different from the one which is calorie free. Though fat-free foods have lesser calories, you may eat or drink more calories through your food and similarly, low fat content foods have similar calories as the pure diet.

To control weight and calories, you can eat anything you like, but with the condition that not every time you want to eat. Eat anything you want, but not every time you want, and as much as you want to load. While it is agreed that you shouldn’t deprive yourself of things that you love, you cannot go on having them in a reckless manner. So adopt a middle course. While eating you should eat slowly. Through this method, may be you will eat lesser calories and lesser quantity of food. Remember the brain gets to know that the stomach is full, only after some time lag; therefore it is better to eat slowly and enable both to share the details.

While eating you should begin with small helpings. You can add later if you want to eat more. By filling the plate, you will eat everything, though you may not need it.  You should train yourself to start piling smaller helping on your plate.

Alcohol adds calories. It also makes you consume more as Alcohol can pep up you appetite. Drinking is no sin, but drink only occasionally and in moderation.

Believe it or not, fat, calories and weight are inter-related. When you take a note of your daily calorie intake, you will understand why you are fat.

Calories are found in abundance in some junk food items.  The oil in which these have been fried adds calories. You should cut down on these calories. Similarly, unusual amount of fat causing calories found in certain food items should be avoided. The key however, is not in avoiding food, but eating less or eating the correct quantity, and eating at intervals which should not be often. Bear in mind, you are what you eat!
