Vitamin C is good for the face
Most people have a daily morning and evening ritual of cleansing and protecting their facial skin. But did you know that your skin needs vitamins to remain healthy?
I too have a daily facial routine. It includes treating my skin with vitamins A, C and E. I apply this solution to my face after I have washed it and before I moisturize it.
The combination of these vitamins helps protect my skin against the harmful sunrays. The sun emits two types of harmful rays. The first is UVA rays and they cause the skin to look older.
The second type of ray is UVB and this causes the skin to burn. Protecting your skin with these vitamins is good. What is the reasoning behind it? Let us look at how vitamin C can help your skin.
According to Salynn Boyles, a writer for WebMD, studies show that people who ingest a decent amount of food packed with vitamin C will notice fewer wrinkles on their face, as compared to people who do not get enough of the vitamin. Therefore, the more vitamin C that you consume, the less likely you are to get wrinkles.
Now we understand what impact the consumption of vitamin C can have on our skin. How does it help the skin, when we apply a vitamin C solution directly to it? I will tell you.
When you apply a vitamin C solution to your facial skin, it immediately absorbs the vitamin. Your skin immediately gets the benefits of the vitamin C, which helps to detoxify the skin by fighting off free radicals that would normally damage your skin. Vitamin C can also increase collagen production, which makes your skin more supple and firm.
Our bodies use up vitamin C very rapidly. Therefore, it is important to replenish the body continuously by eating foods or supplements that are high in vitamin C. You can also get your daily dose by applying a vitamin C mixture to your facial skin.
