Versatile Lemon
Lemon is a fruit, which is popular or known in all most all the countries across the world. If lemon is popular then it deserves to be so, because of its versatile qualities. In every kitchen, you will find them lying for various purpose. Some use it for pickle; some use it as refreshing drink or some use for its medicinal properties. The list of its usage is unending.
Given the importance and necessity of lemon in our daily life, why not to preserve the juice of this fruit for the time, when lemon is scarcely available. In most of the regions, plenty of lemons we get during the winter. However, during summer, they become very expensive, as the production goes down during that time. To meet the demand of lemons during summer, there is way to preserve them naturally. Yes, you don’t need to use preservative.
Here, I would explain you about the preservation process of lemon juice, which could be used as lemonade for the summer. Lemon is usually used for various refreshing drinks.
Take a huge number of lemons (according to your requirement) and then squeeze the juice out from them in a container. In the next step, pour the juice into a glass jar, but one third of the jar should be empty. Now, you add sugar into the juice to fill the rest of the jar.
The next important thing to do is to keep the jar under the sun every day, as long as the sugar melts down in the juice. Even after the sugar melts down, you need to dry the mixture for another week under sun. Here, the sun heat works as the preservative.
When you are putting the jar under the sun, keep the cover of the jar open. You can cover the jar with something, which should not stop the sunray from falling on it.
Once, it is done, you can keep the jar in the freeze or outside for the summer servings!
