Treat Acne Naturally
October 15, 2009
Acne is more common than you think. This skin disorder affects both males and females in any age group. Most people who have acne as adolescents will grow out of it when they become adults.
But this is not always the case. Many people suffer from acne despite their age. Acne is caused by many different things but there are ways to naturally treat this skin disorder. Most of the steps taken to treat acne naturally are treatments that will actually improve your total health anyway.
One of the primary causes of acne is poor or inadequate hygiene. People either do not cleanse their faces enough or they do not do it properly. If you have chosen soap to wash your face, then you will need to do it two times each day. Washing the face twice each day will remove pore clogging oil.
When oil remains in the skin it causes the pores to become clogged. As a result, you may see blackheads form. These blackheads will in turn become pimples.
While you should wash your face twice every day, you do not want to over-wash your face because this can cause skin irritation and actually make your acne worse. It is important to keep your skin clean so that the pores in your face will not become clogged.
You can even treat acne by becoming physically active. It is believed that physical activity increases the circulation of blood. The better the circulation of blood in the body, the easier it is for your body to release toxins.
The light from the sun, whether it is natural sunlight or a light that mimics the sun’s rays, can help treat acne. Sunlight causes the body to produce vitamin D, which can help to clear up the skin.
You also need to keep your skin properly hydrated. Remember to drink 8 glasses of water each day. The water will flush toxins out of the body. Increase the amount of fruits and vegetables you eat.
Fruits and vegetables are great sources of fiber and vitamins which can help keep your skin clear. Stay away from foods that are fried as this adds excess oil to your body.
