Tips for Losing Excess Weight Quickly

March 17, 2009

Everyone today is becoming obsessed with looks, and being physically fit is a must to be considered truly attractive.  Unfortunately, self-esteem goes hand in hand with having the perfect physique.  Women, especially, get extremely overly concerned about any excess weight, which does damage to their mental state.

When the body suffers from low metabolism, fat is not burned off but stored instead.  The same happens with a person whose hormones are out of balance.

These are legitimate medical conditions, but the simplest reason many individuals end up with a weight problem is their poor eating habits.

The simple truth is the daily intake of calories cannot exceed the amount of exercise the individual gets each day.  Foods being consumed that are not healthy are filled with sugar and fat and basically useless, empty calories.

Here are a few tips for losing excess pounds quickly:

•    A non-stop daily walk will quickly turn your body into a lean and toned machine. Results should begin to appear in as quickly as two days.  This does not have to be a forced march, but it does need to be without stopping.

•    Try to never your main meal before retiring for the night.  Your last meal of the day should be no earlier than four hours before bedtime.

•    Sodas are filled with calories that will not help your body so instead drink fresh water.  You should be drinking at least 8 ounces of water every day.  Drink a glass before each meal and this will decrease your appetite.

•    Waking up should mean grabbing an 8-ounce glass of fresh water to begin the day. The body is mostly made up of water, with each organ containing water.  Water does amazing things to help the body function correctly and to eliminate harmful toxins that build up in the system.  Give the body water to flush out fat.

•    Don’t depend on crutches like diet pills, as any long term weight loss depends on a change in lifestyle habits.

•    Foods that have been grown organically will do wonders for the body, as they are filled with vitamins and minerals your body needs: fresh fruit for breakfast and snacks, raw honey instead of sugar to sweeten things, plain yogurt, vegetables, especially raw ones, fresh fish like salmon and more.

•    Guard against falling into the trap of eating out of boredom or emotional eating—
stuffing in food to stop uncomfortable feelings.
In general, eat foods for the purpose of giving your body the nutrition it needs, not because it looks yummy.  Eat healthy meals in proper portions for your body size and then get the body moving to burn off excess calories.  The weight will come off.
