The number of people, now categorized as morbidly obese, is growing at an alarming rate. The doctors instruct many of the obese to lose the weight, in order to save their lives.

This diet program teaches individuals how the consumed food helps to generate energy. The program teaches its members to follow 40:30:30 ratios, to help them make food choices.
The 40:30:30 ratio means that each meal should contain 40% of carbohydrates, 30% of protein and the last 30% should be fatty foods. The Zone Diet teaches participants how to proportion their meals for life.
People on The Zone Diet can also take supplements designed by the program to help them along with their diet. These supplements can help increase weight loss at a healthy pace, without causing harm to the body or having any harmful side effects. The supplements work in coordination with the meal plan.
