Pregnancy itself is a stressful time for both the mother and the newborn. As with any sort of medical procedure, your body needs time to heal itself. So dieting just to lose weight after the pregnancy is not going to do you any good. It is better to wait once your body is ready, and then attempt to commit to a diet program.

Increase the nutrition value while decreasing calories

Here is where you become choosy as to which foods are the best to eat. There are plenty of foods that offer lots of nutrition value and offer a calorie balance to assist with cravings in between meals.

While it still has not been determined if breastfeeding aids in losing weight, one thing is certain; it does provide benefits for both yourself and the baby. It does this by adding 300 calories to your meals without you having to worry about adding on more weight.

Become more active

Once you have been cleared by your doctor to begin a high intensity work program. Start to turn it up, remember that in the beginning you are going to start slow. However, once the body has totally healed and your doctor feels that the time is right, go ahead and begin the exercise program that will bring you results.
