The Miracles of Creatine

Body builders have been known to combine creatine with other supplements to get the results that they are looking for. Many studies on creatine have been performed.

Creatine gained popularity in the 1990’s because it was a natural way to increase muscle size and build a lean body. Creatine became a way for body builders to enhance their physique and performance naturally without the use of steroids.

Before creatine, steroids were the answer to enhancing an athlete’s performance. But the use of steroids came with many health risks. The natural supplement creatine became the answer.

Creatine allowed body builders and athletes to enhance their performance and build more muscle without the negative side effects of steroids.

Creatine needs to be taken properly in order for it to work. The process of taking creatine is called “loading”. It is done on a weekly basis. In the first week, a person should take four doses of 20 to 30 grams of creatine each day for five or six days.

During this period, the muscles will become saturated with creatine. After the first week of loading, a person should continue to take creatine but at a lower dose.

In the following weeks, a person should maintain their creatine levels by taking five to ten grams a day. Following this schedule will keep the muscles fully saturated. As with any supplement, the body should not be overloaded.

Our muscles use up the majority of creatine that we either make in our body naturally or take as a supplement. Creatine supplements increase muscle size because it increases the size of the muscle fibers.

Studies are continuously performed on creatine to find out other uses of the natural supplement. Because of its attributes, creatine is being considered to treat muscular and neurological diseases.
