One of the things you’ll find in cabbage is something called Sulforaphane. One of the purposes of sulforaphane is to help create antioxidants that help the body fight infections. Doctors have also noticed that in addition to fighting infections and boosting the body’s immune system, sulforaphane also provides the body with the necessary tools to fight with the free radicals that cause cancer.
Eating just two pounds of cabbage a week is enough to lower your chances of you developing cancer. The best thing about sulforaphane is that you don’t have to worry about having too much, there aren’t any side affects, even though the body doesn’t produce it naturally.
