The key to this diet is to keep the insulin level within a certain zone. As a result a person feels less hungry and following this dietary plan can make you feel more energized.

Start this dietary plan by including fruits and vegetables. The basic idea is to include the right combination of low fat protein and favorable carbohydrates in every meal and snacks in a day. The number of Zone meals to be included is three in addition to the two Zone snacks in a day.

Drink at least 8 glasses of water daily. The Zone diet insists on gaining the carbohydrates from fruits and vegetables and the fats from olive oil and other mono saturated fats. The foods to be avoided are junk foods and the food stuffs that contain empty calories.

Therefore this dietary plan changes the lifestyle of the person too. This diet results in making the body healthy and fit.
