The Best Time For Aerobic Exercise

A simple question is – what is the best time for performing aerobic exercise?  The simplest answer is – any time!  Because, for the aerobic exercise, the most important matter is that you do it anyway rather than when to do it. 

Whichever time you choose, a persistent cardiovascular exercise such as jogging, walking, cycling, climbing stair, etc, with time duration of at least 30 minutes will give you benefits by burning body fat.  You follow them vigorously and consistency is much more significant than at which time you do.  But, this also does not mean that time never plays a role either.

The first option:  If you want to gain the maximum possible results out of all your minutes devoted to your workouts, then getting up early in the morning with the purpose of undergoing cardio is the best option for you.  This will be a little difficult for those who are not “morning people”.  Remember that you do cardio in the morning with an empty stomach before you have breakfast.

The second option:  Now, if performing cardio exercise first thing in the morning is not possible for you due to various reasons, such as resuming job or study early in the morning, then the second best option for it would be to do it immediately following weight training.  The post-lifting cardio exercise can give you the same results as done in the morning with empty stomach.

Though, doing cardio at night is not advisable because it will give you some benefits through burning of fat but fail to give you the advantage of the after-burn effect associated with the morning session; this is simply because here you will go to sleep after the workout.  The after-burn effect refers to the morning session when you burn the fat not just during the session but also after the workout with an accelerated rate.

While we are asleep, our metabolic rate reduces compared to any other time of the day. All in all, considering all aspects, the best time for cardio is the early-morning session.  Burning of more fat is not the single logic for choosing early morning time.  When you do early in the morning, it will bestow you a kind of freshness throughout the day.
