The Best Cardio Workout
August 25, 2009
What is the best cardio workout available? This is really difficult to answer as there is no single answer or one machine that everyone can use. A lot research of needs to be done before choosing a cardio workout and many factors have to be taken into consideration. Let’s look at the few main things to be kept in mind.
The first thing to consider is the kind of person you are. For instance if you are more inclined towards sports and fitness activities and were involved in various sports at school level then you would require a different workout or machine as compared to someone who has never done any exercise till date.
You could run for five miles and not break a sweat while another person could be panting just walking for a block or two. This difference should be kept in mind.
The next thing to figure out is previous experience with cardio machines. If you have worked on various machines and are aware of the technology then you might prefer an advanced machine with more options.
However if you are new to this and are looking at just staying fit then a simple machine that suits your needs would be ideal.
Most important of all things is your target. What is it that you want to achieve from your cardio training? If you just want to lose weight then jogging around the block is the best cardio you can get.
A membership at the local gym could be another option instead of fancy gizmos. Half an hour on the treadmill or stationary cycle is also good and you could combine weight training with your cardio.
With all this in mind choose the workout that is best suited for you. It need not necessarily be the best that is available. In addition to this when you start your cardio ensure that initially you do slowly and not go gung ho as soon as you start.
This is to avoid any injuries especially if you are restarting after a long gap. Once you are comfortable you can slowly increase the intensity of your workout.
You could try the different options and choose one that you like. You can also do short workouts of different cardio activities rather than sticking tone activity for a long period. This would ensure an effective workout while at the same time be interesting for you.
