The advantages of aerobics as the first thing in the morning

The fact is that for the aerobic session, when you do it is not as important as the regular and consistent pursuit of it.  If you are doing it religiously, then it will give you guaranteed benefits no matter at which time you do it.  Though, it is also the fact that which part of the day you devote to cardio will affect the quality of the benefits.

The good results will be there whether performed at any time, but for the maximum possible benefits, you should consider a special time.  There are three major advantages of the early-morning aerobic exercise.

First advantage:  During this time, with an empty stomach, the levels of muscle and liver glycogen or stored carbohydrates remain low.  With considering 7 p.m. as a time for your dinner and 7 a.m. of the next morning as your time of breakfast, this gap becomes a 12-hour overnight fast, during which the levels of glycogen gradually refute, providing glucose to different body functions which are constant even during sleep.

This provides a ground for more burning of fat during the early morning with depleted glycogen and lower blood sugar.  Though not a valid figure, some studies have guessed that the cardio done in the fasting state can burn up to 300% more fat.  Carbohydrate (glycogen) remains a prime and favorite energy source for our body.

When this main source of energy lacks its quantity, our body opts for its secondary or reserved energy source – what we call the fat.  For the cardio done soon after eating anything, the burning process will still be the same, but that will include less of the fat and more of the carbohydrate that you have just generated with eating.

Second advantage:  The second benefit of early morning cardio session can be termed as the “after-burn effect”. While doing early in the morning, you will be burning fat not only for that session but also after that workout at an accelerated rate.  This intense session of cardiovascular exercise can turn the metabolism at an elevated level for hours after the session.

Third advantage:  The third benefit is a feeling of satisfaction and freshness.  Psychologically, you will be happy with less amount of stress throughout the day.  Physiologically, the exercise produces endorphins in the body; endorphins are opiate-like hormones being hundred times more powerful compared to the strongest morphine.  These endorphins work for reducing stress with improvement of mood, increment of circulation and relieving of pain.
