Symptoms And Treatment For Pregnancy Constipation
Constipation during pregnancy is a common body discomfort which lasts till the pregnancy. The constipation may occur frequently during pregnancy. But the constipation can be avoided to a large extent by the following methods:
Exercise: Regular walk both in the morning and evening will help to loosen the bowels and it would move out easily. This will also help to get rid of morning sickness. It keeps the pregnant women in good spirits.
Drink water: By drinking about 8 – 10 ounce glasses of water daily, the pregnant woman can keep her intestines healthy. This will improve the bowel movement. This is also good for the health of the baby in the womb.
Water or fluids when taken keep the body hydrated and thereby pregnancy constipation can be avoided to a very large extent. Those who stay in a place which is hot and humid should increase the intake of water and fluids accordingly. The more water or fluids you drink, the easier it is to move the bowel.
Vitamin supplements: Vitamin and Calcium supplements relieve constipation. But some of the Vitamin and Calcium supplements available in the drug stores have aluminum as one of their component.
Aluminum would cause constipation. Therefore such medicines are not helpful to reduce constipation. Some supplements dissolve in Ph of vinegar and such supplements are good to relieve constipation.
In addition, some vitamin and calcium supplements are prepared for relieving constipation of the pregnant women. These medicines also contain Folate and Vitamin ‘B’, iron and Vitamin B which are essentially required by the pregnant woman.
So in addition to relieving constipation, they are also helpful for the general health of the pregnant woman. Such supplements should be taken under medical supervision of course.
Hot and cold food: This is considered to be one of the best ways to get rid of pregnancy constipation. This is a process of alternating between hot and cold food and drink. The simple way is to take cold fluid and then take hot tea. This helps to relieve gas and makes bowel movement easy.
Rest: For a pregnant woman, bed rest is one of the best remedies to get rid of pregnancy constipation and blood pressure.
