Sun-Dried Tomato Spread Recipe Sun-Dried Tomato spread is a wonderful recipe and a great substitute to other kind of spreads. I love this recipe because sun dried tomatoes are one of my favorite ingredients.

They are great in everything you make. Be it foccacia, meatballs or pesto. This spread is very light, fluffy and so flavorful that I am sure, it will make your taste buds dance. Sun dried tomato spread is a perfect appetizer and trust me its taste is absolutely phenomenal.

So, my dear friends let us quickly learn the secret of making this yummy spread. This creamy version of mine is sure to please you. It has a very powerful cream cheese flavor which tastes great with a fine allusion of the tomatoes. It’s so tasty, simple and easy to make. Preparation Time: 10 minutes
Cooking Time: 5-10 minutes
Servings: 7 persons (1/2 cup each)


1 package (7 ounces) sun-dried tomatoes in oil, drained and chopped
2 packages (8 ounces each) cream cheese, at room temperature
1 onion medium, caramelized
4-5 garlic cloves, crushed
1 cup of roasted sweet red peppers
1 cup of sour cream
1 cup of mayonnaise
1/4 cup of hot red pepper sauce
2 teaspoons of kosher salt
11/2 teaspoon of black pepper, freshly grounded

Preparation Method

To begin with, roast the bell pepper, lightly grease the peppers with any cooking oil and roast them under the broiler for about 5-7 minutes. Ensure that you are turning them in between to avoid burning. Once the bell peppers are roasted nicely, set them aside to cool down. Later, chop them roughly.

Take the sun dried tomatoes, cream cheese, caramelized onions, crushed garlic, roasted red peppers, sour cream, mayonnaise, hot red pepper sauce, salt, freshly ground black pepper and place them in a food processor. Blend all the ingredients into a puree. Transfer into a serving bowl and serve at room temperature.


There are various easy and endless combinations for this wonderful recipe. For example- Simply take my version of the above recipe, just go ahead and transfer all the pureed mixture into lightly greased 13-in. x 9-in.baking dish and sprinkle with some Parmesan cheese. Bake it in a preheated oven at 350° for about 25 minutes or until the edges are lightly browned. Serve it with crackers to your guests and see how it works as wonders for you!

Similarly, you can also use this delicious spread to top grilled zucchini, meat, fish, bread, eggplant and many more. You can serve it with basil pesto cream cheese and use variety of ingredients such as scallions, beans, tofu, Mozzarella cheese, Italian cheese or Parmesan cheese to prepare this spread.


1. You can adjust the spices as per your taste.
2. Ensure that you refrigerate the spread if you are not serving it right away.
3. Make sure that you make the spread with right consistency; if it is too thick add extra cream or olive oil.
