Stretch It Out

Sometimes we can be in a hurry when trying to fit our workout into our daily routine. Just as important as it is to exercise on a daily basis, it is important to make sure that you stretch both before and after your workout.

Stretching beforehand will decrease your risk of injury. It can help to prevent pulled and strained muscles. This can cause cramping or pain during your workout and can lead to serious injury.

Also by working out beforehand, you will help your muscles to perform better since they are already warmed up and ready to go. They will contract and release with less strain so that you are able to get the best workout possible.

Stretching after your routine helps your muscles to repair themselves from the wear and tear that you just put them through. This is known as a recovery process. It will help your muscles and tissues to get back in their rightful places and stretch them out.

By stretching before and after your daily workout routine, it helps work with the process of building muscle. You will make your workout more effective since stretching will improve your range of motion and enable you to have a longer, harder workout.

The three types of stretches that you should do are ballistic, static and passive/isometric. Each one of these types of stretches serves its own purpose and own set of muscles. The ballistic is little barbarian but works wonderfully and the static is a safer set of stretches that you can do on your own. The last set of stretches will require you to have a partner to help you with these.

With a little bit of research you can decide on which type of stretching method is right for you. It can depend on whether or not you are a beginner or if you have been working out for quite some time. The type of workout routine also plays a role in which method and which muscles you need to stretch.
