Sticky Rice- A Thai Dish

As you get the idea of dish with the name ‘sticky rice’ is a sweet dish and it is also known as glutinous rice. These are available in every food store and you can get it easily. This is well-known Thai dish. It is tasty as well so it can serve as sweet dish even before your guests.
Ingredients:
2cups of sticky rice
3.5 cup of water
Air tight pot
Salt(according to your taste)
Almonds and cashews(for seasoning)

How to make:

Take two cups of rice and placed them in a pot. Add the water to rice and stir for 20 minutes. Add salt to the rice and again stir for 2-3minutes. Turn the pot to heat. When the water begins to bubble put the heat down to the medium heat. Rice will cook well on the slow- medium heat. Place a lid over the pot but don’t cover the whole mouth of pot leave small portion open to allow the steam out. Put the heat to the minimum heat and leave for 10 minutes. Check the rice with a spoon or a fork that all water is absorbed or not if water is present put the rice on minimum heat for 2-3 minutes more until the whole water is absorbed. Now turn the heat off but leave the pot on the hot burner for 8-10 minutes and place the lid tightly. Remove the lid and serve the rice with attractive seasoning such as almonds and cashew nut.

Thinks to remember:

Sticky rice is hard shelled so it takes much time to soften before cooking.
Salt should be iodized.

Putting on hot burner will allow the rice to stay hot for net an hour as it will provide you time to do some other work.

You can eat rice after chilling it in fridge but eat the rice in 1-2 days as after two days rice will become hard.
