One’s health is in one’s hands and it is up to the person to live a healthy or an unhealthy existence. Diet plays an important role in determining the health of a person as a well balanced and a nutritious diet can easily add some happy and healthy days to one’s life. Moreover, healthy eating does not imply starving yourself or sacrificing the taste of your taste buds. On the contrary, healthy eating can be equally filling and tasty provided one follows some intelligent cooking. One of such healthy items is sprouted dal salad which has a great nutritional value and is thus a health food which can lead to the overall well being of a person.

Sprouted dals are a great source of protein and calcium along with being rich in fiber. In addition, they have a unique flavor when you sprout them and thus they help in filling up one’s hunger without leading to any health hazards. Moreover, it is easy to sprout seeds and lentils at home and thus this health food can be easily made at home with little effort and maximum benefits. To prepare Sprouted Dal Salad, one needs 50 gm of any sprouted dal, 1 small finely chopped onion, 1 small chopped tomato, fresh coriander leaves, chopped green chilies, ¼ tsp salt and black salt, ½ tsp dry mango powder, ½ tsp roasted cumin seeds, red chili powder and juice of 1 lemon.

To prepare this healthy and delicious salad, one should first soften the sprouted dals in very little water for about 2-3 minutes and should add all the above ingredients in this dal. Mix it well and sprinkle a few coriander leaves while serving. Sprouted Dal Salad gets prepared in no time and it is a healthy food item for people of all ages and gender. Moreover, these salads have been found extremely useful for people with any heart related disorder.
