Raw Food Diet Program
Many diet plans and organizations involved in weight loss programs suggest consuming raw-foods and plant-extracted diets. They emphasize it as the best way to good health, weight loss and weight maintenance. Eating a raw diet is healthier because it retains all the enzymes in the original plant, which are lost in cooking processes such as frying, baking, steaming etc. Another advantage is retention of vitamins and elimination of toxins from the body. There is a vast difference in the amount of calories, protein, fat and carbohydrates that is present in raw food as compared to the cooked food.
There are number of raw food diet plans to make you healthier. In general, these diets are based on plant and contain almost 75% raw food. The conserved enzymes that are lost during the cooking process are readily available in these plans. A Raw Food diet comprises of fruit, vegetables, dry fruits and juices, rolled or peeled grains, herbs and spices, nuts, seeds, sprouted kernel and grains. Diet plan can also include cooked grains and legumes, high quality fish and poultry food products. But it is the fact that raw food eaters are mostly strict vegetarians. It has to be vegetarian diet because such foods are easy to metabolize and have lesser calories than non-vegetarian food items or foods of normal diet.
The cooked food should not be consumed with raw food because cooked food causes the releases of acid in stomach, which does not allow proper digestion of raw foods.
The Raw Food Diet cannot be followed for a longer duration. It can be followed for a short-term weight loss. The judicious way is proper nutrition and regular exercise to lose weight permanently for the majority of people. One should stick to a basic food program and daily exercise to get a permanent healthy life.
