Oblique Exercise – A Post Pregnancy Exercise
Many women have concern about doing exercises at the time of pregnancy but it is necessary to continue this practice even after pregnancy. Oblique exercise (post pregnancy exercise) will help you to cut down the extra fat from your body.
Oblique muscles are part of abdominal muscles. There are two sets of oblique muscles- internal &external. Both sets run in a diagonal direction starting from side of your waist down towards the center of your pelvis. Oblique crunches are great for targeting what many people refer to as their love handles. Oblique crunches work primarily the oblique and the upper abs because you are performing spinal flexion and rotation.
How to perform- To perform this exercise follow the instructions mentioned below:
• Lay down on a comfortable surface. You can either take a soft carpet or Yoga mat. Now, bend your knees so that you can feel rest flat on the floor. Bring your arms up overhead, it should bend at elbow and support the head and neck in your hands.
• Take a deep breath to engage muscles of your abdomen. Breath out and lift up your right elbow. Don’t arch your back too much; lift it as far as comfortable. Your elbow should move towards left of your knee. Always remember one thing your oblique twist is not a sit-up. Don’t try to pick up your body upwards to earth. Just lift your arm and shoulder blade at a comfortable distance.
• Inhale when you relax your right arm at the floor, exhale and lift your right arm in that manner as done the first. Now, complete the first oblique twist repetition.
• Complete10-15 repetitions. You can rest if necessary. Continue it with fitness routine.
Oblique exercises can prove very beneficial if done in proper manner. Some of the benefits of this post pregnancy exercise are mentioned below:
